About the project
This 2,500 sq ft bungalow in Pune is a mixture of several interpretations that, brought together, are dissimilar yet in harmony. A five-member family's differing tastes, individual storylines turned into a melodious symphony, became the inspiration for The House of Hues, one of the most recent projects led by the founders of KAAGJ Architects.
The objective was to turn a 40-year-old bungalow into a cosy space that radiates a tranquil, personal vibe. The lightness of the space, the deliberate design and the preservation of each material's natural character are carefully considered throughout the project.
The client's brief was for a fusion of ethnic design with the clarity of modern spaces: the primary motivation behind blending fine craftsmanship with modern and vernacular detail.
